needles

pretty girl was due for immunization shots for age 4.

it was expected 1 immunization shot. the doc said she's due for hep shot too. we needed to get one of the shots from the chemist ourselves. upon return to the doc, he was preparing 3 syringes!

omg! 3! three!

ever since she was old enough to know what was going on, we brainwashed her that it's only something good kids get.

the first time she eagerly and gladly awaited for the shot. she realized it hurts! she didn't cry. but she wasn't too happy.

this time, we brainwashed her with the same concept. she declared she didn't want it. but it wasn't too painful to get her to sit still. because we had a lure. ferrero rocher chocolate! she'll get to have one if she sits still to get the shots.

you could tell from her expression that it hurts when the needle was poked. she didn't cry. the doc was really quick so the pain should last less than a sec.

the doc's wife praised her and gave her 2 stickers. she usually only hands out 1 sticker. wow! she felt special!

we later asked her, does it hurt? she replied, no, just ticklish. :)

Wow 3 needles, my girl can't even sit still for one. She screams, kicks and cry and we have to hold her down. Even rewards doesn't do the trick.

my son doesnt cry either, and he also got 3 shots at once few times spreed across over the years...

now he doesnt like needles, make sure to hold your child tight. cos our last visit my son's arm moved and the needle just went in. T.T it started to bleed after the needle was out... the dr said "your son moved, its ok." bandage, stickers and candy will do the trick. so my son will ignore the pain long as he can have some candy. >.>

@cynthia, did you try brainwashing? or give her bs that only good kids gets the needle?

@linda, my doc is very careful, had at least 2 people holding the child very still.
