double eyelid tapes

prettymom • 2011-03-06 • Comments (7)

let me start with some facts. i have double eyelids, but not very distinctive. i had monolids when i was a kid. the fold started to form in my later teen years. i have no idea how it happened. some childhood friends thought i had surgery done. i did consider the surgery and almost had it done when i was 15 but another doc talked me out of it (and i’m thankful for his advise.)

i’ve also never tried double eyelid tapes nor glues.

i saw some asian gurus on yt having similar fold like mine using the tapes to make their eyes bigger. i was tempted. however i’ve never seen these kind of tapes sold here. they probably do exist in asian groceries but i guess i’d be terrified looking at the price tags. i checked out ebay and bought the cheapest one. just to see what it’s like.

double eyelid tape

this is what i bought from ebay. 50 pairs of tapes for around aud$1.50 including shipping. it was shipped from china.

back of package

the back of the package. it’s written in japanese and korean. that really helps! not! i don’t understand either.

i don’t understand why there are chinese in the front of the package but not the back. at least i could’ve understood some and try to work what it says.

dior spring summer 2011

dior spring / summer 2011 looks. images downloaded via google image search.

i fell in love with these bright bold colors when i saw these pics from the dior’s fashion show.

from the backstage video, various bold colors are used besides the 3 colors shown above.

i’m also tempted to cut my fringe like that… but it took me so long to grow them out and i know i won’t look good in them. maybe i should try those clip-on fringes to see how it goes.

look of the week

don’t expect me doing the same look as the photos. they were for fashion show. too strong and dramatic for everyday office look. i don’t have the exact colors. i was just having some fun trying out some stronger-than-usual looks inspired by these fashion show photos.

savvy by db loose eyeshadows

savvy by db mineral blend loose eyeshadows from the $2.99 stash. all savvy by db products were buy 2 get 1 free at priceline last week.

not everything from the $2.99 stash are good. liquid eyeliners are the only ones i’m happy with. not too impressed with eyeshadows (it creases even with help of eye primers) and eye pencils (hard to draw and fades very quickly). haven’t tried the lip pencils. if you have, let me know what you think.

the first complaint i have to make, as usual… priceline, please use good quality tapes! hate the sticky residues. or savvy by db should consider sealing the jars so priceline doesn’t have to sticky tape products to guard them.

savvy by db loose eyeshadows - bottom

i got chocolate, aquamarine and sea green.

bourjois mineral matte mousse foundation

bourjois mineral matte mousse foundation in 82 vanilla delicate. i bought it last weekend when target was doing 50% off on all bourjois products. (thanks celina for tweeting about this special.) rrp about aud$31.

the boujois display and shelves was quite empty. i spot a foundation that’s probably my shade. usually when there are sales, the lighter shades are gone. this was the only foundation that still had some lighter shades in stock. i grabbed one before it’s gone. this was the 2nd lightest shade.

bourjois mineral matte mousse foundation

the consistency of the foundation, as the name suggests, is just like mousse. light and fluffy.

summer sunset

prettymom • 2011-02-26 • Comments (2)

it’s the last summer weekend in 2011.

i wore this look to work yesterday. because the photos taken ended up too dark and the colors were distorted with too much adjustments, i decided to do the same look again today so i can take better pics. i really love how it turns out and have to blog about it!

eyes with brm squash and hello kitten

brm eyeshadows in squash was applied to inner 2/3 of the eyes and hello kitten was applied to outer 1/3, bonehead on the browbone. top lid was tightlined with a brown eyepencil and bottom line with bluish white eyepencil. no mascara – i forgot.
