l'oreal glam bronze la terra

l’oreal paris glam bronze la terra was one of the products included in lmff package received quite a few months ago. this is a product that didn’t get my interest, because, well, it’s a bronzer.

for those who know me, i’m not a bronzer fan. while i do have quite a few bronzers in my collection, they’re mostly used for contouring, as blush or as eyeshadow than aiming for a ‘healthy’ glow look. however i still don’t use them much because they’re either too brown or too orange or too shimmery.

but this one has caught my attention and has become one of the most frequently used products recently.

about the product:

L’Oreal Paris Glam Bronze La Terra adds colour to the face and body. Fine film technology allows the skin to breathe, while a blend of ochre tones and micro-dispensed light pigments mimic the effect of the sun on the skin. The smooth texture creates healthy glow on the face and body. Its smooth and velvety texture blends easily and light-diffusing elements give an instant shimmery glow.

l'oreal glam bronze la terra

this is a face and body powder. as you can see, it is huge!

l'oreal glam bronze la terra

glam bronze la terra comes in 2 shades. this is 02, the lighter shade.

this is lightly swatched on my arm and i like the subtle hint of color. i love that it’s not very pigmented and i can freely swipe the color on my face without worrying looking dirty.

of course the color is buildable.

it looks matte, but it has very subtle shimmer under the light and when applied. it gives my skin a nice glow without looking too shiny.

maybelline color tattoo in tenacious teal

prettymom • 2013-08-28 • Comments (0)

this is another long overdue post. maybelline color tattoo was one of the most talked about item when it first came to the market. it’s said to be the affordable version of mac paint pots. everyone wanted to get their hands on it, including mine. as usual, it took a while to come to australia and this is the very first color tattoo i bought. why i haven’t blogged about this is beyond me.

maybelline color tattoo in tenacious teal

maybelline color tattoo in #40 tenacious teal. it retails at aud$11.95. of course you don’t have to pay for full price if you can wait for discounts and pricelines has discounts all the time.

maybelline color tattoo in tenacious teal

it comes in a big glass-like pot. the packaging is quite bulky. if you look from the side, the amount of product is quite thin. however i’m not too bother with it since i’ve never finished anything! i’ve had this for over a year and i’ve only made a very small dent.

this color is wysiwyg, ie just as in the pot. it’s very vibrant and very intense.

while it’s called ‘cream gel shadow’ it’s more of a creamy texture. very smooth and blendable.

the product is marketed as long wearing and crease proof. i’m more interested in the crease proof property.

when swatched at the back of my hand, it is long lasting. i didn’t purposely clean it off washing my hand throughout the day, while the color fades slightly, it’s still there. i had to use makeup remover to remove at the end of the day.

on my eyes, the color is still vibrant after a few hours. however, it creases! a vibrant intense teal line on the crease in just 2 hours! of course the problem is fixed when eye primer is used. like many other products that promise creased proof, i can’t wear this just by itself. i even tried the layering method and nope, i still need a good eye primer.

this is a great color to be used as a base to brighten your blue toned eyeshadows. if you have blue eyeshadows but can’t get the required color intensity, this is your friend.

warning. make sure you screw tight the cap. i’ve had this for over a year, the product is start to show signs of drying even though i make sure the cap is tightly closed after use. it’s still usable, but not as creamy as when i first used it.

color tattoo vs mac paint pots? compared with the only one paint pot i have, the product consistency is quite close. paint pot seems creamier. both can be used as base. both crease on me unless primer is used. i can’t compare on the color intensity because i have soft orchre and it’s a skin tone color. paint pot also dries up slowly as time goes by but it’s easier to work with when it’s less creamy.

revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in adore and smitten

this is a long overdue post. a review of something i purchased quite a while ago.

revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in adore and smitten

earlier this year selected brands were 50% off at chemist warehouse. i’ve been eyeing on revelon’s just bitten kissable balm stain since it was launched a few months prior. they look like affordable version of clinique’s chubby sticks, which i didn’t buy due to the price factor. i was trying to hold back buying these since i already have too many lipsticks. but the 50% discount was simply irresistable!

i wanted to buy all the colors! but i tried to limit the purchase and narrowed it down to adore and smitten.

both are the darker colors in the range.

about the product

Just Kissable is a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain that gives you softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of colour that lasts hour after hour. What’s more it comes in an adorable chubby crayon form – and no sharpener required!

  • Lightweight Lipstain + Moisturising balm
  • Perfect flush of colour lasts hour after hour (3 hours)
  • Retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required
  • Ultra-moisturising formula glides on for baby soft lips with light peppermint fragrance
  • Smooth gel formula gives your lips that shiny kissable look & feel
  • Baby soft lips that feel supple, conditioned, moisturised and look fuller
  • 100% of women felt lips were moisturised with a soft stain of colour

my thoughts

it has a light minty fragrance that fades quite quickly after application.

it is very moisturizing and glides on smoothly. it feels like a balm. when my lips aren’t super dry it can be applied directly on the lips without lip balms. however if you’re relying on the balm properties and if your lips are dry, it’s not very long lasting. so i’d suggest, use a balm anyway.

usually with moisturizing color lip products i do not expect staying power. i was really surprised that it lasts! not lasts-all-day kind of staying power but long enough. the glossiness fades fairly quickly but leaves lovely stain on the lips. this explains the word ‘stain’ in its name. the stain will be quite difficult to remove initially but it will slowly fade. very slowly. keep in mind that the colors i chose are quite dark so it probably lasts longer than lighter colors.

most chubby lip crayons gives a nice sheer finish. revlon just bitten balm stain also gives more color payoff with more layers. just take a look at the photos below, with 1 swipe of color on the left and 3 to 4 swipes of colors on the right.

they comes in a convenient package. its twist up features means not sharpening required. it’s so convenient to carry around in my bags too.

i love it! i also love the 2 colors i bought. if i’m not on spending ban, i’d get all the colors!

revlon just bitten kissable balm stain is available in 10 vibrant shades and retails at aud$17.95.

arbonne lipstick in scarlet

arbonne lipstick in scarlet

arbonne lipstick in scarlet. it’s a perfect color for winter / fall. it’s also perfect for the great gatsby inspired looks that’s been around beauty blogs lately.

arbonne lipstick in scarlet

the first thing i noticed was the sturdy sleek matte black case it comes in. looks simple yet modern.

arbonne lipstick in scarlet - swatch

the color is quite pigmented and glides on smoothly. it’s matte yet it doesn’t feels as drying as most matte lipsticks. with my very dry lips i still need the help of lip balm prior to application.

arbonne lipstick in scarlet

please excuse my very dry lips…

the color looks deep red from the tube. while it looks like deep brick red when swatched, it leans towards burgundy tone when applied on my lips.

you can make the color appears more red or more brown or more plum with it’s respecitive tone lip pencil as base.

this is one of my favorite color this season because it makes my complexion appears paler. yes, i love being snow white!

being matte the staying power is fairly good. and being dark color the color only fades slightly after drinks. if i don’t eat oily food and without touch-ups, by the end of the day it’s lovely stain on my lips.

quite a good qualitiy lip product, from the packaging to the lipstick itself.

arbonne lipstick retails at aud$37, is available in 14 shades and can be purchased from independent consultants or from the website.

product was sent for consideration.
