morgana cryptoria lipsticks in lust after midnight and mistress. these normally cost usd$12. i got these for usd$9 when there was a sale at the end of august.
one coat of color swatched at the back of my hands.
the colors are darker on my lips than the swatch. dark lips was my look back in mid to the end of ’90s. it was the trend. so dark you looked like you’re poisoned!
mc lipsticks are very very popular. by the time i went to the site, only a few hours after the sales was annouced, all the nice colors (in the context that it suits and wearable by me) are gone.
not that these colors aren’t nice. it’s just, i haven’t worn colors as dark for ages. they seem better on younger girls.
on my lips, lust after midnight is a dark metallic chocolate. mistress is near-black plum <– this used to be my lips back in those days. i don’t know how many aussies still remember poppy lipsticks back in the ’90s. mistress is similar to one of them, but i can’t remember what it was called. i still miss the old poppy lippies.
the bottom of the lipsticks, with colors labelled.
the lipsticks comes in normal lipstick size.
here’s a comparison of size of the tube with a mac lipstick. i don’t have a new mac lipstick (it’s been ages since i bought a new mac lippie!) to compare the actual bullet size of the product.
the morgana cryptoria lipsticks have been said to be better than mac lipsticks. i have to agree.
the staying power is great. not the lasting forever type, but long enough to last till my meals.
i really like the texture. they are light weighted. feels like nothing on my lips. sometimes i even forgot if i had them applied on my lips.
they are not drying too. sometimes i forgot lip balms before application and my dry lips don’t complain.
they are scentless. the description for lust after midnight says ‘smells like chai tea’, but i can’t smell anything.
they are very pigmented. maybe because these colors are naturally dark. i always try to reduce the intensity with blotting and some glosses over them so they don’t look that dark.
ordering from the website is straightforward. no customer service involved from ordering to delivery. even though the site has lip swatches, i still did google research to look for swatches from various blogs.
the shipping fee for my order was $7. if i read correctly, insurance was included if the package gone missing.
now that all colors are now available, i’ll be buying more wearble colors!
look of the day
i wore lust after midnight today. the color was originally very dark chocolate and looked more metallic. i used lip brush to make the color less intense. it also looks drying on my lips because i forgot lip balm.
the husband said he’s not used to this look. me too!
on my eyes, noella beauty works eyeshadow in rose gold. i used very small amount just to give tiny bit of shimmer.
