skin care

the st ives exfoliators

my favorite exfoliators - st ives appricot scrub. these were marked down from $10 to $8 at priceline last week.

most skin care experts advise against harsh grained exfoliator. these appricot scrubs are quite coarse. but i love how it feels like they're working hard lifting out dirts from my skin. my skin feels so soft after using them.

i use them as cleansers daily. the 'invigorating' scrub (peach tube on the right) feels more coarse. i use it 2x per week. other days i use the 'renew and firm' (green tube), which has finer grains.

i've tried exfoliators from department store brands in the past. the grains are fine but i don't feel them working at all.

the cheapest exfoliator is baking soda that you can buy from supermarket shelves. mix it with water or your favorite cleanser. i used to use this during my oily skin days.

I love those too:) The price here in the US is cheap, 3 to 4 dollars each :)

Love these cleaner, I used to like the older version because the apricot scrub was more coarse than the new packaging design. I really like this because I feel that it does a good job in exfoliating my skin. I never knew they had two different scrubs because my drugstore tends to sell only one of the scrub which is the renew and firm one.

@cynthia, i remember the good old apricot scrub! the invigorating one isn't as coarse but it's more corase than renew and firm. i saw a different packaging for invigorating, not sure if it's a new packaging or formula.
