winged eyeliner with maybelline gel liner in brown and set with black rose minerals eyeshadow in tourniquet. the eyeliner actually reflects some kind of bronzy shimmer but it wasn't captured.
i haven't used maybelline gel liners for a long time because the staying power sucks (previously reviewed).
since it's sunday and i don't need makeup that last hours and hours, i decided to try out setting gel liner with eyeshadow to see if it last longer. this is not a new trick. it takes time and i'm lazy :p
6 items for this minimal makeup day:
- benefit creaseless cream shadow liner in flatter me. to give my eyelid some sheen. probably the only eyeshadow that doesn't crease on me 90% of the time.
- australis paparazzi perfect hd concealer in light / medium. to cover up blemishes and dark circles.
- maybelline eye studio gel liner in brown.the feature of the look i did today.
- black rose minerals eyeshadow in tourniquet.to set the gel liner.
- silk naturals lipstick in berry nice.
- rimmel eyebrow pencil in hazel. as usual, i need my brows!

i'm starting to get use to having bare face on sundays. it's probably a myth the skin needs to breath fresh air, but i like my skin to be free of makeup one day per week. at least that makes me feel like i'm doing some goodness to my face.
as with the staying power...
i took off my makeup 6 hours later. usually some part of the line disappears and the end of the wing smudges or disappers by this time. with some colors smudged on my lower eyes.
today, 6 hours later, the line still looked perfect. nice and solid. ok, probably slightly smoked at the boundary. but it still looked nice. the lower eyes still looked clean.
like i said, it's not a new trick. in a way i'm glad the maybelline gel liner not totally wasted. i can still use it! however setting it with eyeshadow takes time. not something i want to do everyday.
