vibrant and shiny

i've been reading from forums that you can bring out the color of mineral eyeshadow via a technique called foiling. basically mix the powder shadow with water or any mixing medium and apply.
i never tried it because i don't want to contaminate products. i hate to spoil the whole product just for the sake of trying out something.
since i'm bored and have plenty of time at home, i decided to do a bit of research. there are many visual demonstrations on youtube. you can also a how-to with pictures here.
mixing medium
i read that you can mix with water. most suggested not to because after water evaporates it leaves the shadow feeling dry and hard.
there are mixing mediums where you have to buy from specialty stores. i don't know where to get them.
thankfully there's something you can get easily. visine the eye drop. it costs aud$6.50.
foiling
it's suggested using eyeshadows that are shimmery to bring out the shinny foil effect. it's easier with powder form. with pressed eyeshadow you need a bit of work to dig the powder out. looks messy.

i'm using she dusting powder in karma. this is not my favorite product. i won't cry if it's messed up. it's green. not many greens look good on me. this green makes me look sick. why did i choose it? because it was marked down <-- my only reason to buy something i'm not so keen on.
put a drop of visine on the lid. slightly wet eyeshadow brush with visine to pick up some powders. mix powder to a creamy paste.
to apply, do not apply like you normally apply your eyeshadows and it will loose the shine. just press the color on the lids and wait for a few seconds for it to dry.
don't worry if the 'border' is messy. it can be softened with blending brush later.
the look

it's actually very shiny than what you see in the pic. like a sheet of green foil. it also looks as if creamy eyeshadow was applied.
i quite like this green after foiled. lucky it wasn't thrown away during the last clean out.
i've only wear it for 3 hours and the staying power seems fine during this period.
