the minimalist in recent times

i read from several places about no makeup day on may 14, after the date.
prior to reading this, i thought about doing a post with my bare face. but i have been putting it off weeks after weeks. i don't have the courage to do it. wearing makeup has been part of my life for many years. i don't wear makeup at home, but i do wear some form of makeup if i get out of the house. like a touch of lipstick.
it's like makeup gives me the confidence i don't have. it covers up the flaws i don't want people to see / know.
don't tell me that beauty comes from the inside crap. i know that. if you read this blog you know what i'm saying and what it's all about.
the minimal look
i'm still not ready about showing my bare face. let's face it. i'm not naturally pretty that i'm still presentable with my bare face. most important of all, i'm not young and i don't have the advantages being young have.

so i'm doing the minimalist i'm comforatble with. no foundation. covered the dark circles with concealer. filled in the brows and lips. with dab of mac strobe cream to brighten the face - on bridge of nose, the eye area and above the cheeks.
note that i did cheat with this picture. the color level was adjusted because it was too dark from a shady day.

mac strobe cream that i bought i few years ago. this has now been repackaged.i can't remember exactly how much it was, but i believe it was more than aud$40.
i don't use this often. i didn't like the 'shine' it gives. as if i have oily skin. now that my skin is going toward the drier end, it's not too bad.
in fact it was hiding really inside of a drawer. i haven't seen it for years! only found out a few days ago when i was cleaning out the drawer. if i remember correctly it used to have some pleasing fragrance and now it's gone. it's going towards offputting... i better use it before it's gone totally bad.
