silk naturals summer loving set

silk naturals' summer lovin' eyeshadow set arrived beautifully packaged. the eyeshadows are $4 each. this kit of 4 is $13.95. that's in usd$.

i chose this kit because i was looking for something sweet and romantic. valentine is coming up and i had been thinking about doing a pretty romantic look since i read this post from peony in love. but i couldn't find anything i like from my own collection. ok, i wanted an excuse to buy something new! there were a lot of pretty colors at silk naturals and i couldn't decided which color to choose. so i just chose a kit with colors that look like i don't already own.

Follow up:

silk naturals summer loving color swatch

here's the swatch. perhaps you should check the website for better color swatch.

frenchie, sandy, danny, rizzo. white, pink, olive green, taupish / purplish. (the colors on the back of my hand looks somewhat different from the site's description.) the name is so grease! i didn't really notice about it until i actually get to play with them.

the colors are quite shimmery. i think they'll look good when foiled. but i didn't try foiling this time.

the colors aren't exactly the same as the post, which was inspired from michelle phan's romantic look last year. basic colors on the eyes are pinks and browns. looks a bit winter. it's summer in australia and i want something that matches the season.

very often tutorials are sources of inspiration for your makeup looks. you can try to recreate the same look, but you don't have to use the same product or the same colors. you can modify with what you have and what suites you. after all, everyone are different.

summer loving look

it's a very natural soft look. i don't know if it looks as romantic as i want. lol! after it's just a look and i can call it whatever i like. :) i took some closeups but the pic quality is too blurry to demonstrate the look. :(

prep the face with the usual moisturizer, sunscreen, foundation and concealer.

items used

most items used were from my latest order from silk naturals.

silk naturals summer lovin' eyeshadow set. fill the crease area with sandy (pink). applied rizzo (taupish purple-ish) on the outer corner and blend across the crease. frenchie (white) on the brow bone and inner corner of the eyes. on the lower lids line from inner 1/2 with frenchie and the outer 1/2 with rizzo. remember to blend so you don't see harsh edge.

note: danny (green) was not used. maybe i should've used it on the lower line so that i can use all of the colors in this kit.

silk naturals cream eyeliner in tarnish. it's steel grey. set with perfecting powder.

laura mercier caviar eyeliner right on the lashline. for softer look you can skip this or using brown. but i'm using black to make my lash appear fuller.

rimmel lash maxxx mascara.

silk naturals light brunette brow powder. this is light brown. a few shades lighter than my natural brow color. but it's perfect for a very soft romantic look.

silk naturals blush in charming on the apple of the cheek. i've never try blush this pink and looks really soft and sweet.

silk naturals lipstick in very berry. i don't normally wear pinks on my lips, but this pink looks gorgeous on me! it's good that the lippies from sn are quite reasonably priced that i'm able to try out colors that i think don't look good on me. and i'm glad i chose this. really really love it!

i like bonus points

silk naturals has rewarding system and i'll get points if i refer anyone. i'd really like to get some extra points. if you buy from the website, it's appreciated if you mention me as your referrer when checked out, by entering my email (coco [at] prettymom.org - replace [at] with the correct symbol) in the referrer code or somewhere. thanks!

You look lovely, really soft and natural. Oh the pink lipstick shade you got is something that I will go for. I got something too pink (pale pink) for myself and makes me look bimbo-ish. Any plans for Valentine's Day with your hubby?

valentine this year is the same as chinese new year. so it's family get-together.

oh ha ha that's right I'm doing the same thing too. Not celebrating v-day more like family day. Not looking forward to it, cause seeing them is constant nagging.
