i decided to go simple today. simple is what i'm best at. trying to achieve different looks, such as the winged eyeliner or any pretty looks from makeup tutorials is too time consuming and sometimes frustrating.
i tried a new trick. from napoleon perdis - start your makeup with mascara first. his analogy is that, eye lash is the most important feature. once it's applied you can decided where else on your face that needs more makeup it's usually the last step in my eye makeup routine.
this is probably workable on people with nice long lashes. with my short invisible lashes, it didn't make much difference. :/
back to the look of the day.
i used silk naturals summer lovin' eyeshadow set previously reviewed. since i didn't have time and wanted to keep it simple, i only used 2 colors from the set, danny and frenchie. if you're too lazy to read my previous post, these 2 colors are shimmery olive green and white.
danny was used because it wasn't used with the last look. i also wanted the green to give some touch of freshness to the look. this green seems to work well on me.
as usual prep the face with moisturizer, sunscreen, foundation and concealer. since i use more or less the same products, i won't repeat items used here.
started with a few layers of mascara to top lashes with mascara of the moment.

dampen the brush with visine. i like to put a drop at the back of my hand and wet the brush. then swipte the brush on a piece of tissue to remove extra moisture.
pick up the green eyeshadow powder with the wet brush and pat across the crease area. soften the hard border with blending brush. apply white to the brow bone and inner corner.
tightlining the top lids with laura mercier carviar eyeliner with flat brush. keep it simple without wings.
keep the lower lids clean. waterlining the lower lids with laura mercier eye liner in ice blue. this is bluish white. this is probably discontinued because i can't find this color from the website.
add further coats of mascara. <-- still can't see the lashes!
bourjois blush in rose d'or.
clinique lipstick in pink chocolate.

What kind of eye lash curler do you use? I have short lashes and so I want to get an eye lash curler that gives me that pop. Another wishlist is to get Acne concealer and also an eye lash curler.
