shape your brows

since i decided not to re-tatoo my brows for a while and it's taking too much time in the morning to draw and fill in my brows, i should give brow stencils a go.
brow experts would say, don't use these. everyone's brows are different and it's not a one-size-fits-all thing. the shape of your brow depends on it's natural shape, the hair and your brow bone. you should get your brows shaped by a professional.
i'm too stingy to pay for professionals. i'm willing to give the stencils a try.

i remember seeing a lot of these stencils at beauty stores in hk. but it's a rare species here. this is the only brand found so far. it's a bit pricy at $8, 2x the price in the states! but there are no other choices here. and it's cheaper than going to a brow bar.

there are 4 clear stencils in a box. i don't know if you can see it clearly from the pics, from left to right: elegant, glamours, classic and delicate. the individual pics taken are too blurry. i'll retake them again another time.
the shape of these stencils are thicker than my taste. i prefer thin brows.
they need to be placed correctly, esp the inner edge and the highest point of the arch. i have 2 differently shaped brows with differnt arch points. it takes time to ensure they are place correctly. i'm not aiming for a twin set of brows. but they shouldn't be too far off. once one of the brows is done, wipe the stencil with tissue then flip over, so that it does not mess up the other brow.
i find that it's easier to apply with brow powder than brow pencils. brow pencils do not give a nice border definitions and cannot get to the tails.
the classic look

i tested out the stencil named classic. it's a arounded arch. i used silk natural's brow powder in light brunette to fill in the stencils. it's so much lighter than my natural color, but i purposely chose a lighter color, so that my brows don't ended up overpowering.
because the color is light, you can see what's real and what's artificial. i often wanted to draw my brows out of my natural shape but i didn't dare too. with the stencils, i'm surprised how nice they looked. i have no problem with the thickness too.
i quite like it!
i think i can revisit the strong brow looks that i attempted a while ago. i'm sure i'll look better with help of these stencils.
look of the day

the overall look after makeup. i should keep the eyes clean to make the brows standout more. i was testing out some new colors (which i will review later).
gowonsesang hydra intensive blemish balm was used as foundation. it makes my skin appears paler and i like how natural it looks. i tried to apply with my hands and i find that i use 1/2 the amount than when used with foundation brush! on the other hand, foundation brush gives a moother result.
lips was just lip balm and sephora lip gloss in bronze beauty. though the color looks deep burgendy, it's very light when used alone, gives a flush of color to the lips.
no blush. no mascara.
i was going to play with false eye lashes too! but i think i'll have to watch those tutorials again before attempting.
