there are 2 versions of liquid eyeliners by savvy by db. the one on the left are on standard shelf, retails around aud$5. the one on the right are usually on a separate cardboard stash away from the shelf, retails around aud$3. price-wise both are really cheap.
what are the difference? the most obvious reason, the price. i started using liquid eyeliners with the cheaper ones. a while ago priceline was having 20% off all cosmetics, so i bought the one on the shelf to see what's the difference.
i use brown liquid eyeliners as comparison (because that's the only color i have from the shelf and they both have the same tone).

the most obvious is the packaging. the color of the liquid eyeliner is indicated by the bottle or the handle. the colors are chocolate (left) is black / brown (right).

the text at the back of the bottle. judging by the printed information, one contains more than the others. they're made in different places, germany and china. so the one made in germany has less product but is more expensive than the one made in china.

the tip of the liners.
the cheaper one (left) has thicker tip. the picture shows that the cheaper one also fibers. i can't remember if it was this way when it was opened or because it's been used for a while. i have quite a few of these and they don't all look this way, but the quality is quite inconsistent. the tips can be thicker or thinner, blunter or pointier. they're not for drawing very fine lines. the consistency of the product itself isn't very consistent too.
as for the more expensive one, since i have one, i can't say if the quality control or the product itself is consistent. i'll just say, it's doing a fine job. i'm not complaining.
application-wise, both are the same. as long as the tip isn't too blunt and the consistency of the liquid isn't too thick.

the color swatch, just for comparision. colo-wise though one looks darker than the other, they look almost the same when applied on the eyes.
if i remember correctly, there are 3 color choices for the liquid eyeliner on the shelf and 5 or 6 colors for the ones from the stash.
which one is better? i think the one from the shelf probably has better quality. but the ones from the stash aren't too bad, if you're lucky to get a good one. i have opened 5 tubes and 1 tube that has a blunter tip and thick consistency. the chance of getting bad one isn't that high. even tho that's classified as 'bad', it's still usable. it just can't draw a fine line, which is fine with me because i like thicker eyelines.
i will definitely repurchase when i run out of stock.
