bokeh face cosmetics eyeshadows in roses and octopus. 2 of the new eyeshadow samples that arrived earlier this week.

wearing bfc eyeshadow in roses across the whole eye area.
the color is described as 'intense, dark pink with medium shimmer'. the color looks dusty medium matte pink. i don't notice much shimmer in the color.
i didn't like this color when it was first applied. maybe it's due to the bad bathroom light, i looked like i cried. but checking the color again when i was outside, there was no 'crying factor'. i like the soft pink look on my eyes.

the color is described as 'super vivid orange with green duochromey twist'. the product photo also showed the color as bright orange. the actual product didn't look that bright. it looks matte orange to me. i've never tried duochrome eyeshadows so i don't know what to expect. some degrees of shimmers shows through when it's under downlights.
i was a bit disappointed that it's not as bright as described. however i like how it looks on my eyes. it goes well with my skin tone. maybe a real bright orange won't work well with me.
these eyeshadows seems to have good staying power. with these 2 particular eyeshadows, they last about 7 to 8 hrs on my eyes, with primers used.
i also ordered some foundation samples to try.

testing out foundation in medium pale. as a fan of pale skin, i like how it looks on me. it doesn't seem outrageously unmatching nor look like i'm wearing a mask. usually if you wear foundation too light, your face look grey and masky. it does seem too pale than my neck, but my natural face is paler than my neck.
will need to test other colors as well to give a final verdict.
mini review of my order from bokeh face cosmetics

here are my sample orders. there are foundations, blushes and eyeshadows.
i intended to just order foundation samples but ended up with this much!
there are some samples missing from this order. i made 3 lots of 6 samples for the price of 5. i expect 18 samples all together. i emailed natatlie, the owner, about the 3 missing samples (2 eyeshadows and 1 foundation which is probably going to be the best match). she was quick to repond and apologized for the oversight, and offered a full size eyeshadow of my choice. woot! now i have to decide which one i like.

initially i think $1 per sample is quite high. but since they come in clamshell containers i guess i get more products than baggies.
i'm quite nervous handling clamshell containers. always have the fear of spills, which happens everytime no matter how careful i am! it's also a time consuming process using these containers.
i like having labels on top so i can easily find what i want from my makeup drawer. however the print size of color name is rather small and not so legible from a distance.

bottom of the clamshell container. because the container is opaque, it's not easy to workout the color of the eyshadow.
a more thorough review will be posted once i have the chance to played with more colors. stay tuned!
