makeup

i'm buying quite a few products from rimmel recently. it's been here for a while, but i only got interested after seeing sexy curve mascara used in some of pixiwoo's makeup tutorials (it's one of my favorites!)  in addition, it doesn't carry high price tags like revlon does. it's very affordable if you can wait for special deals.

i'm buying a lot of  makeup recently because there are always something on special. in the past, there are specials but it's a once in a blue moon thing. now they have all sorts of excuses, with the latest, mother's day. smart consumer nowadays will wait and don't buy things at full price!

rimmel match perfection foundation in true ivory

rimmel match perfection foundation in 103 true ivory. it's $3 off all rimmel products at kmart. reduced from $21 to $18.

this is a perfect match for me. it enhances the look of my skin, makes it appear flawless. it also doesn't shine on me - keep in mind that i have dry skin.

it's fragranced but it's on the good side.

it doesn't have spf. that's the only downside. but sunscreen has been part of my skin care routine so it doesn't really matter.

rimmel lasting finish intensive wear lipstick in celeb

rimmel lasting finish intense wear lipstick in celeb. i actually bought this a few weeks ago when all rimmel lipsticks were marked down to $6.

i previously reviewed about the bubblegum smell that i can't stand. i tried to steer away from lipsticks from this brand. but it was a lemming item after watching cora's warm neutral makeup. she looks so pretty wearing this color. i so so so wanted it!

wearing rimmel lipstick in celeb

the color looks like a pretty salmon color on her and on the back of my hands. but on my lips it's pink! a bright pink that doesn't flatter me!

initially i thought it's because the color doesn't match with the color on the rest of the face. i use a lot of deep winter / fall colors and this color is too spring-y.

i wore minimal makeup today. with minimal colors i was hoping this lipstick will work for me. nope. i just look odd. too much attention goes to the lips. one of those what looks good on others doesn't look good on me! :/

look of the day

look of the day

everything were kept to minimal. see how the focus goes to the lips? but not in a good way...

i think i look better with red lips.

products used

rimmel match perfection foundation in true ivory. applied with sigma makeup's duo fibre brush. i really love this brush! imo it gives a better application than foundation brush.

savvy eyebrow pencil in grey.

edm eyeshadow in freckle (dark dirty olive green) on the top lashline and outer 1/3 of the lower lashline. smudge out with mac eyeshadow in lyrics.

napoleon perdis long black mascara.

boujois contour clubbing eyepencil in black party just to tightline the top lashline.

edm blush in morning cup to contour the cheekbone.

rimmel lipstick in celeb. (this is the color in photo. i later changed to maybelline colorsensational lipstick in let me pink. this is a better pink for me.)

I actually really like the color lipstick that you used for this post. It appears to be softer and it's very romantic.

@cynthia, maybe it's because it's spring / summer at your end of the world! well, i think i'll give it a try when it's spring / summer in australia.
