rimmel lash maxxx mascara

rimmel lash maxxx mascara is now my mascara of the moment.
when something is referred to as a product of the moment, it usually refer to something i really love at the time, out of the many many products in my collection.
however with mascara, it has a different meaning. i only use one tube at a time due to its life expectancy after opening. i remember it was mentioned at a lot of places where the mascara should be thrown away 1 month after opening. but i recently read that it can stay for 3 months. i like this.

the mascara brush looks very different from what i used to use. instead having bristles all around the whole wand in some form of shape, eg carrot, it's like a tooth brush, with 2 or 3 rows or 'teeth' on one side. the pic is a bit blurry (my crappy phonecam and crappy photographic skill) i hope it gives you some idea what it looks like.
i needed to get use to this brush. have to remember to use the correct side to apply the mascara.
according to product description it supposed to give you 3x the volume.
on my short and barely visible lashes, i have to 'kiss' the mirror to see that my lash is more visible and defined, after 2 or 3 coats. but i'm not sure about 3x the volume part. maybe i need more coats, but more coats makes my lashes feel clumpsy and heavy. probably something i need to get use to.
for better results i always use a eye liner (with my favorite carviar eye liner) near the lashline to make my lash appear fuller and eyes to look more awake.
i don't apply on the bottom lashes because i always ended up with panda eyes.
since it's waterproof, special eye makeup remover is required. or even cheaper use vaseline, baby oil, or the yummy extra virgin olive oil.

i think you can compensate with a good eye liner on the lashline. i've been doing that. at least i don't think i look odd with eye makeup but without mascara :p
did you try maybelline great lash? that's classic.
