tight lining has been an essential step in my makeup routine. it makes my eyes appears bigger, more awake and gives an illusion of fuller lash.
though essential, sometimes i do forget this step. eg when interrupted by kids.
so i realized i forgot to tighline my eyes while i was already in the car. people probably don't notice, but i could see the flesh between my lashline and the eyeliner. i tried not to let it bother me. but it did! it could be better if i had not applied eyeliner.
i went to priceline and was looking for something. if i have to pay full price, i would! but it has to be waterproof, knowing how easily things gets smudeged and transferred on my eyes.
i bought something

revlon colorstay eyeliner in black.
colorstay was one of my favorite range. i was at one stage really crazy about their lipsticks i bought almost all of them. but realizing how overpriced revlon products are in australia (along with other major brands) i stopped buying.
i like that the pencil is retractable. perfect for my makeup bag - something i've been looking for. well, i've been thinking about buying it, but paying $26 for it does not justify.
priceline is having revlon special at the moment. $7 off all revlon product. that was the perfect timing. i still think it's expensive, but i needed one at that moment! right now!!
i have to say, i was disappointed. the color already transferred to my lower lids when i checked the mirror less than an hour later!
colorstay.... isn't the color supposed to stay where it is??
i've only used it once, so it's probably not a good benchmark. i'll try again some other days.
what works

bourjois clubbing waterproof eyepencil in black party.
i've been using it almost daily since i got it earlier this year. if you are regular visitor of this blog, i see me mentioning this product all the time!
yes, it's getting shorter due to almost daily use. i need to stock up. waiting for the next special. don't fee like paying full price of $21.
it works... most times. it rarely smudges... yes, it happens. not very often. that's why i would give the colorstay liner more chances.
i heard that urban decay 24/7 eyepencil is a great. but i don't have access to this brand - it was pulled out from australia years ago! i don't think i'll buy them even if they're available here. i wonder how these pencils compare.
my previous favorite

laura mercier carviar liner in black.
this was how i started with tightlining. i had great makeover at the counter. it was the first time i realized my eyes could be a feature. i always thought i have ugly eyes...
i had been using this product almost daily.
however, i've stopped using it after one embarrassing morning. the color strongly transfers to my bottom lids. so strong i was a walking panda! i didn't realize i checked in the mirror. no wonder people were staring at me!
i know this product smudges on me. i thought it was normal because nothing stays on my eyes. and the problem was minimal when compared with other products. but nothing as bad as that morning!
still wish i had a hole to duck when thinking about it...
