makeup

blue liner

a look inspired by one of michelle phan's makeup tutorial. with some slight modification. i can't remember which video.

please excuse the blurry pic. tho it looks quite natural in the pic, it's more colorful in real life.

np loose dust in #20

the product in focus is napoleon perdis loose dust in #20. the color swatch at the website does not reflect the real color. it's more shimmery dark pink. a friend got it as a gift but she doesn't need it and gave it to me. when i get a new toy, i must use it now! :)

top lid was lined with my favorite eye liner. most tutorials leave eye liner to last. i like to do it as the first step. then topped with eye shadows to lighten the color. i don't like a harsh black line.

dip a bit of the loose dust and apply to the center of the eyes and blend it out.

use a dark plum at the outer corner of the eyes and blend it inwards. and a white or pale color from the inner corner to 1/3 of the lid.

now the bottom lid. line 2/3 of the inner rim with a blue eye pencil. i used laura mercier kohl eye pencil in purple sapphire. a nice purplish blue. applied a blue shadow about 2/3 from the outer corner and a pale pinkish color from inner corner to about 1/2 of the lid.

for the blue i used edm eye shadow in 10 items or less (i don't see this color at the website. disontinued?) and for the pink romance novel.

it's probably better to make a video to demonstrate how it's done. it's too much trouble. i don't have the setup to do it. maybe someday...

I'm trying to get the Valentine Day - Romantic look from Michelle's Phan tutorial. I have to say after investing some good brushes it does wonder.

I took some pics too, and it's hard to show as well I don't know why. I'll try to upload some pics for you to see.

yes, invest in some good brushes. they don't have to be expensive to do the job too! you can even get brushes from art store and they do the jobs equally well!

it's hard to take good pics because you need good light and good camera. i just do it from bathroom where the light isn't so good. and photo quality from iphone isn't that great too. i also don't have the good photographic skill to do it.
