here's another surprise included in the package sent to me by cynthia. it's not available in australia.

nyx 10-color eyeshadow palette in secret world. nice set of colors perfect for natural looks. the greens are great for enhancing brown eyes. price shown at the website is usd$11.

there's nothing special about the packaging design-wise. i like the simple sleek and slim size. perfect for my makeup bag.

the back of the packaging with ingredient list that basically means nothing to me. being addicted to makeup, i should learn something about the ingredients, but my limited memory can't accomodate that much information. :p
user experience
it's been quite a while i've not not used pressed eyeshadows regularly. reminds me how convenient and messy-less they are.
i love all the colors. there are so many color combinations to create eotd with just a single palette. whereas with single eyeshadows, i have to think and look for them, which is quite time consuming.
on checking the website, there are so many palettes with great color combinations!
pigment-wise, when swipe fingers across the colors, they seem to pick up the colors. however when wipe the color at the back of my hand for swatch, some show up better than others. the darker colors seems more pigmented than the lighter colors.
i guess this palette is more geared towards natural looks. it'd be quite challenging to create dramatic looks by itself. you probably need some kind of base to assist bringing out the colors. i've only done simple loosk with this palette.
you probably have noticed i don't put up photos of color swatches in a lot of my posts. i suck at doing them. it really requires time and patience and skills. most of the time they don't show up well in both real life and in photos. in additions, the colors appears in swatch don't necessarily show up the same when applied on the eyes. i think it's better to show close up eotd as benchmark for colors.
the palette also comes with sponge tip applicator. it's probably good if i want to exfoliate my eyelids.
some colors have fallouts. remember to tap away excess to prevent anything messy on your cheeks.
simple natural weekend look
this is currently my favorite weekend palette. it can be used to create various versions of natural looks.

i used to top right 3 colors to create today's look. i also use the lid color for my lower lashline.

close up eotd. it's hard to show the colors with the lack of sunlight.
other products used on my eyes... wnw cream liner in black just to tightline the top lashline and maybelline's XXL curl power mascara. it's said to give both lengthening and volumizing effect. i can barely see my lashes at all...

you can probably see the colors on the eyes better here. it was taken about 3 hrs after makeup. notice some colors starts to deposit on the crease? ud eye primer was used and doesn't seem to help shadows stay where they should be.

on my lips, silk naturals hot blooded. the color isn't so red after 3 hrs.
