not safe for work

black rose minerals has a pretty color popping collection called nsfw, which stands for not safe for work. however this post has nothing to do with the collection. maybe because i've been eyeing on the set, this name immediately popped up after i did this too shimmery look.

last weekend i came across to a great youtube video for hooded eyes (linked via phyrra).

i've heard of the term hooded eyes but i always thought it's applied to mature eyes with the skin from the crease drooping. don't want to associate myself with the word 'mature'! how traumatized to realized my eyes are classified as hooded eyes... now that i know what it really means, i feel better ;p

i've done similar looks but never really know where to place the crease color. that video explains very well how and where. if you have hooded lids it's a must watch! she's a aussie too! go go aussie!

phyrra's picture-tutorial also helps.

this is a look i did earlier this week.

nyx 10 shadow palette secret world

i used nyx 10 color eyeshadow palette in secret world which has an array of neutral colors.

i didn't realize the colors chosen are so shimmery! making up in insufficient bathroom light is bad... i looked like i was going on stage more like going to work!

refer to the label on the shadow above, 1 was applied all over lid area from inner corner to outer corner, 2 was applied to the area slightly above crease, and 3 to blend out 2. 1 added to the brow bone and inner 1/2 of lower lashline. 2 added to outer 1/2 of lower lashline.

most makeup tutorials tell you to place the crease color on the socket. i've been doing that and colors often disappeared when my eyes are wide opened.

this tutorial says to look straight ahead to see whereabout the color should show when your eyes are opened. for my eyes, it's quite high above the eye socket. however i didn't place the color high enough. but you can see a bit of darker color on the crease. it's already an improvement.

winged liner on top lash line with brown from pf gel creamliner for brown eyes. 2 coats of mascara. (i don't really like it to mention it,)

doesn't my eye look more dimentional?

i don't normally do 'complicated' looks on working days. but i woke up 20 mins earlier than usual (not that i was excited to return to work after a week of break!) complicate in the sense that i used more than 2 shadows.

i really like that my eyes don't look 'flat'. i really have to wake up that early every morning to do that! it's still so cold and so hard to get out of bed!

it doesn't look so shimmery in photo, but believe me, i looked like i was going on stage!

i will try to do it again with less shimmery colors. and wake up earlier so i have time to put on makeup! XD

on my lips, de leon cosmetics lipstick balm in #10. i was going to apply gloss with the same number but i attended pretty girl and forgot. gloss was added after i did my morning shoots.

de leon cosmetics lipstick was sent for consideration.
