olive oils on my kitchen bench

i love extra virgin olive oils. add them to salads. add them to pastas. dip breads in them. yum yum yum!

they are also good as makeup removers, esp waterproof ones. provided your skin can tolerate such oiliness. i tried them during my oily skin era and i didn't like it. my skin didn't break out but i don't like the oiliness feel on my skin. now with drier skin, i love them!

they are relatively cheap too. around $5 to $9 per bottle at supermarkets. compare to cheapest small bottle of makeup remover that cost around $10. compare the size!

best of all, they don't sting my eyes. i like lining colors very close to the lash line and even inner rim of the eyes. most eye makeup removers sting my eyes and make me cry! but not with olive oils. makeups are 100% removed.

i'll just pour very little amount to a dish. slight soak cotton with the oil and wipe.

it's said that olive oil also nourishes you lashes.

basically you can use any oils to remove makeup. like baby oil. i just like the freshness of extra virgin olive oils.

Home or food remedy products always make your skin looking nicer. Back in my college days when I can't afford certain facial or hair cleaning products, I used egg whites as mask and tea to risk my hair for a shiner effect.

Thanks for the olive oil tips, I used olive oil when cooking never though that it could remove make up and I agree with you those make up remover are so painful, it stings and makes me cry.

hmm yes i've tried using EVOO for makeup remover and also baby oil but i still love my DHC deep cleansing oil because it can be washed away with warm water easily. and it doesn't sting my eyes either. of course this thing cost way more than EVOO...

@cynthia, sometimes i use egg white as mask too!

@annie, i usually use olive oil as eye makeup remover but if i poured too much oil i'll extend to the face as well. no matter what i always follow up with cleansing oil, so it's not too oily. but then i have dry skin so oiliness is not a problem for me. i've not tried DHC but i guess most cleansing oils are more or less the same.
