morgana cryptoria gel lipsticks in coraline's doppelganger and luminous lava. part of my purchase from black friday sale. these were at special price usd$5 each.

the opaque label. the print is small and is somewhat hard to read the name of the color.

this doesn't really affect me since i have only these 2 lippies and i can tell the color form the opaque tube.

color swatched at the back of my hand. the colors are more shimmery in person.

the colors are quite pigmented with pretty pearly kind of sheen. they last through meals, though color isn't intense by then.

what is gel lipstick? it's not explained on the website.

the texture is very soft upon arrival. it's hard to apply the product evenly directly from the tube. in fact, it's quite messy. see image below.

you can imagine how messy it was when applied on my lips. i had to even out the color with a lip brush to get a more even finish. while the colors look pretty, it was too much work!

i wasn't quite happy at first. it was until i read a post at toxid-lotus where it was mentioned that melissa won't ship in summer that i realize this probably why.

i'm in australia, if you don't already know. sydney has the coolest summer in recent history. temperature range in the low to mid 20°C. hence i didn't link it with the weather.

i put them in the fridge. they are more firmed. the texture is still softer than normal lipsticks but it's good enough to give perfect application directly from the tube.

my lips are less dry on summer days. without lip balms prior to application and my lips don't feel dry out.

the downside is, they have to stay in the fridge. i had to go to the fridge if i need them.

and oh, another downside, i can't take them out of the house for re-application.
