i've been wearing a lot of pink lately. it's a color i used to stay away but now giving it some loves. blame it on the upcoming valentine's day. if i have great makeup skill i'd like to film a valentine makeup tutorial. even though i've been playing with makeup since teenager it's only recent years i have some grasp what it's all about. in addition, i need more confidence to do that.
one problem with pink is that, it's hard to show the color. it's not just pink. i have problem with most pale colors. probably due to my skin tone.
a trick i learned when i was an active alt.fashion newsgroup lurker was, use a white color eyeshadow as a base to make pale color shows up more vividly. it doesn't have to be pure white. any white tone will do. can be matte or shimmery.
this trick came across my mind today. i gave it a try. it works!
product of the day is edm eyeshadow in romance novel. it looks like dirty pink. like many edm's eyeshadows the color after applied on my lids do not look like what's in the pot. with white as base it does show up more!
i'm using the rosy shade of whites from chritian dior eye shadow in 103 whites and white as a base. since i'm going to use pink, rosy shade should brings out more pinkness from the color. the same color applied to the brow bone.
applied edm's eyeshadow in romance novel on the lids.
mac eyeshadow in lyrics on the crease and blend upwards. this is a light brown. sometimes i use it as eyeshadow base.
the usual eyeliner with laura mercier carviar eyeliner right on the lashline. this is the only thing that works for me. tight lining with eye pencils doesn't provide as pretty result.
australis chubbie eye, cheek, lip pencil in silver ice (pearly white) at inner corner and as eyeliner on lower lids. for natural looks i like to keep the lower lids clean.
mascara of the moment on the top lashes only.
sn blush in charming. i really love this pink!! so pretty!
sn lipcolor in nectar. a sheer brown. i wanted to apply pink but i couldn't find where it is.

the final look. i like the natural look, although it looks even more natural in the pic. and i cheated by adjusting the color level a bit so that it's not too dark and looks more pleasing. :)
i really need to setup a better camera to take better pics so that it's more convincing for a makeup blog.
