makeupreview

if you follow my twitter you probably remember about 2 weeks ago i tweeted that i forgot to apply concealer. i don't know how that was possible because it's the most important part of my makeup routine. i look like one of the cullens without it.

i rushed to a nearby priceline before going to work, and ended up with this.

maybelline mineral power concealer in ivory

maybelline mineral power natural perfecting concealer in ivory. at the time it was reduced to aud$12.

although most products have testers, most concealers in a tube don't have one. the color range of concealer is limited. out of the 2 maybelline concealers i was considering, this one has 3 shades, so i thought it's safer it has a medium color. in most cases i can't go wrong with something that has a medium color.

this concealer uses sponge applicator.

ivory

the color of ivory. it's too light for me. :(

user experience

the first time i used, which was immediately after i went to the office. i didn't like it because i applied too much products. it settled in lines. and because it's too light, thick application made me look ridiculous.

i used it on and off since then for more than a week. i learned to dot less products.

it felt creamy and can be easily blended. it's unscented.

because it's much lighter than my skin tone, the under eye area looked slightly greyed. it makes dark circles not fully covered as a result. it settles a bit in the inner corner of my eyes, which has the darkest pigment and has lots of fine lines.

i doubt the darker color will work for me. it appears darker than the back of my hand.

i doubt i'll re-purchase due to limited color range. US website shows that there are 6 ocolors. i don't know why we have poor choice of colors here.
