maybelline gel eyeliner in charcoal.

i've seen people using this color in their looks but couldn't find this color anywhere. then realized that this color hasn't been available in australia until now. i'm very excited to get my hands on it!

the gel liner and the brush.

i like the brush. it's one rare 'comes with' tools that's usable and functional.

even though i still prefer to draw eyeliner with slant angle brush, it still comes handy when all my eyeliner brushes are dirty. i can still create a nice flick with it.

the color of the product.

the color swatched at the back of my hand with one swipe. the color is buildable and can be more intense.

user experience

it's very smooth and easy to apply.

the color intensity isn't strong. it's something i didn't like originally with the 2 other gel liners i bought when it was first launched in australia. the color is buildable but takes time.

since summer, i began to like lighter and less dramatic colors on my eyes. these seems to be perfect product for the season.

i originally complained that the staying power isn't that great. on my oily lids, sections of the lines will fade and disappear, leaving uneven lines by the end of the day. however i found a way to fix it. the line lasts longer when set with loose powder or another eyeshadow and fading will become minimal.

charcoal has become my favorite color of the moment. it's less intense than black but gives more color intensity than eggplant. perfect for office looks where you don't want to look like you're going to a party.

i also like to use them as base for smokey eyes. they are better base for my oily lids than cream eyeshadows.

i read some reviews where the product dries out. my other 2 that was purchased almost a year ago seem fine. i kept the caps tightly screwed at all time.
