laura mercier mascara that was part of gwp from a purchase 2 years ago.
i'm not using it anymore of course. but i still keep it because i like the packaging. so pretty!
this is what the brush looks like.
like most mascaras i've tried, this did nothing to my short lashes. and because it's not waterproof, a lot of color fell to my lower lid through blinking. i'm a racoon by the end of the day. i had to powder throughout the day to minimize the chance of being a racoon, but such action makes my fine lines more visible.
however a friend thinks it's quite good. she rarely has panda-eye problem. i'm jealous!
makeups is always a your-mileage-may-vary thing. what works on you might not work on others and vice versa. sometimes you have to try it yourself.

I totally agree with you, you have to try certain colors and see what works and what doesn't work. I notice that pink can look irradiated and makes me looks like I'm having allergies. But I'm afraid to realize what doesn't work with me I forked up to pay eye shadows that I don't use can be a waste. 
i used to stay away from pink because i look like i cried. someone actually asked me if i was alright!!i've been playing around with pinks during the holiday and find it quite wearable. i think i had bad makeup skill or i didn't apply properly. or i finally used / find 'the right' pink.
i read that nyx's shadow is very pigmented. since the price is really cheap, you can get and try various pinks to see what works. i wish i have access to it. i thought about asking you to buy some but the shipping is going to be more than the product itself. and i really should not buy anymore! haha!
Let me know what you like, I can stock up for you. I actually should have asked you, they were having a $1 dollar sales at nyx cosmetic site - I got a whole bunch of stuff for $1. Just let me know how much shipping rate will be, I'm sure something light won't be that expensive - I shipped something once to Australia it was like about $8 dollars - for regular shipping and takes at least 5 - 6 days delivery.
