green look for the green day

makeup

it's st patrick's day. it's all about green. when i was young i only knew it was called the green day. the school i attended had tradition of pinching anyone who didn't have anything green on them. thankfully schools in australia don't have this tradition!

bys 8-color pallet diamond shadow in conga

i chose a light green from bys diamond shadow. this green wasn't too pigmented when i swatched it with my fingers. but it seems to get some color when it's picked up with eyeshadow brush.

green lids

the lash line was lined and smudged with black eye pencil, as if you're doing a subtle smokey eyes. i used my current favorite bourjois contour clubbing in black party. then layer the light green all over lid.

have i mentioned that i'm a fan of using single shadow? when there are limited time for makeup, this is the quickest way to put on eye makeup. i don't have to think about color combinations. using black eyeliner as base gives the illusion of using more than 1 colors.

green look

i quite like the freshness of the look. even though most would suggest using greens to make dark brown eyes pop, not many greens work on me.

i just noticed how my eyes looked bigger in this pic. is it the angle or the makeup?

however it only looked good in the morning. by afternoon, the color didn't stay so well even though eye primer was used. it creased quite badly. it was a mess...

i think it's to do with the quality of the shadow. it seems this is the only shadows that creased badly with primer. oh well, it's cheap and i bought it just for the colors.
