green, black and purple. the look of last week

makeup

i didn't have much time to update much during the week. working fulltime, looking after kids, having another virutal life...

writing a 'look of the day' post is more time consuming than i thought. looking for the perfect pic - there aren't many. editing pics. trying to remember what i used. looking up those products so the names are listed correctly, even the discontinued ones.

taking pics is hard too. i'm always trying to rush out of the house in the morning. most of the time is spent on makeup, and kicking the kids to get ready. most of the pics nowadays are taken in the car. neighboring cars must be wondering what's this crazy woman doing...

in an effort trying to sleep earlier so i can wake up earlier and so i have enough time for makeup, i didn't have much time to write any posts after the game.

here are some looks of the week. i'll just mention the key colors / products use because i have bad memories. esp that the pics turns out more natural than reality it's hard to work out what was used too.

basically they're all my favorite look of the moment - subtle smokey eyes and almost-nude lip look. almost-nude since true nude makes me look dead.

the olive green

look feb week 3 - green

olive green is probably the best green that looks good on me. l'oreal eye smoker in forest was used. line and smoke out the color. i'm happy that i've rediscovered these eye smokers.

dear l'oreal, if you read this and i hope you do read this, please bring them back! l'oreal used to make a lot of great products but they were mostly seasonal and once sold out that's it.

the black

look feb week 3 - grey

bourjois contour clubbing waterproof eyepencil in black party. it's really black. used it all over lid to smoke out the color. use the same product to rim the top and bottom lashlines.

for once i was really happy with the subtle black smokey eyes.  not too outrageous for office environment.

the purple

look feb week 3 - purple

this is not truely smokey eyes, but the same technique was used. it's inspired by the ballerina look from peony in love. purple is my favorite color but i don't have a true perfect purple color. (i used to have some but they were thrown away.) most of the purples i have are dark and plum-ish.

bourjois duochrome eyeliner in violet rose, a very nice shiny fresh purple. it was used to filled in the lid up to the crease and smudged, and rim the full lower lashline. a pinkish eyeshadow was wiped across the whole upper lids.

notes

i'm into using eye pencil for eye makeup. they're quick and easy. just filled in the lids and smudge with eyeshadow brush or finger. if you want to bring out more intensity apply eyeshadow of similar color tone, but i usually skip this because i usually don't have much time.

the eyeliner pencils used in the black and the purple looks were recently purchased. i'll write a review post later.
