finally got my hands on elf

i've heard of elf for a long time, but only got interested in products from this brand because it was demonstrated by many yt gurus. i wanted to try them. unfotunately this is not available in australia. it online store also does not ship internationally.

dear elf, if you read this, do you know how much more businesses you'll get if you ship to australia?

sometimes i think most cosmetic companies should stop paying millions to celebrities to be the face of their brand and make their products cheaper and more affordable. nowadays i don't buy products because of celebrities' faces. i believe in recommendation from real people.

now onto the products.

elf duo eye shadow cream in blueberry.

it's really easy and smooth to apply. most blues, if applied too much, makes me look very 70's or 80's. because it's quite pigmented i have to be very light handed. besides preventing looking dated with too much products, light application also makes creasing problem less obvious.

i have love-hate relationships with eyeshadows in cream formula. they're easy to apply and blendable. but they crease badly on my eyelids, even with eyeshadow primer. this product is no exception. it left a line on my creased when i checked in the mirror an hour later. i used my one and only eyeshadow primer - too faced shadow insurance, which works most times.

cynthia also sent me elf eyeshadow primer. i'll have to give it a try to see if it will put an end to the creasing problem.

slf super glossy lip shine sp15 in pink kiss

elf super glossy lip shine spf15 in pink kiss. though it looks more peachy in the pic, it's quite peachy and pinkish in color.

this is a nice summer color. it's not as glossy and the name suggests. it feels sticky on the lips too, quite similar to how mac lipglass feels.

because i have naturally darker lip color, this color doesn't look that good when worn alone. but it's not too bad when glossed over other lipcolors.

look of the day

i'm using the cream eyeshadow with various lip colors / combinations.

this was taken in the morning in the car. on my lips, revlon color burst lipstick in soft rose and elf super gloss in pink kiss.

wearing just the gloss. i think i look washed out.

this was taken after brunch. the eyeshadows now looks unsymmetrical :/ i tried to blend out the color deposited on the crease line and probably wiped out the rest of shadows.
