brushes from everyday minerals

my brushes from everyday minerals.

from left to right – eye shadow brush, concealer brush, eye kabuki brush and kabuki brush. these are synthetic brushes and they are really soft!

there are so many different brushes out there for different purposes. these are the basic ones that i use daily. i always wake up late and have limited time to put on makeup. when you're in a rush, you don't have to luxury to use so many different brushes to achieve the look.

the eye shadow is very good picking up colors, whether the eye shadows are pressed or in loose powder form. it makes blending colors  smoother. if you have used shitty brushes, you know what i'm talking about.

the concealer brush was the older version. i use it to pick up concealers and deposit on my skin. i leave the blending to the eye kabuki brush, which is designed to apply eye shadows but i find it's a better blending tool to smooth out concealers on various areas on the face. i'm talking about loose powder concealers.

kabuki, my ultimate absolute favorite! it's a must have to apply mineral powder foundation. have you tried the mineral foundations from l'oreal and maybelline (or covergirl?) the brush that goes with them sucks! they are harsh and scratchy! this brush is so so so so soft! it's a must have!

i also have flat top kabuki (not pictured). it's said this brush is for more coverage. to me, it doesn't make much difference. i use it as backup brush, like when my kabuki brushe is washed and am waiting for it to dry, which takes about a day.

Those brushes looks really nice and I'm glad you like them. I tried those really bad drug ones. The Ecotool eye shadow brushes does not really pick up the pigments that well, however the blush brushes works pretty good. So there are pros and cons in getting drug store brushes unless you read the review first.

@cynthia, all brushes regardless of brand and price can be hits or misses. you just have to use it to try it. reviews will eliminate your chances of getting a bad one.

@linda, you should try mineral foundation! it's really easy and quick.
