different shades of whites

chritian dior eye shadow in 103 whites and white. it has different shades of whites. blue, red, green, gold. the one on the bottom is eye liner. but on the my lids, they're just white. unless you apply lots to get some suble difference.
this is old. so old i can't google anything about it! i bought it before i got married.that's like... 12+ years ago!
used it at one of the wedding dinners. the outcome wasn't quite good because i didn't really know how to apply makeup back then. i looked washed out. if there exists time machine i'll go back and give myself a good makeover. i will be stunning! lol!
i rarely use it. but i don't want to throw it away because 1) it's $$$ and 2) i really like it.
did you watch michelle phan's latest make tutorial on winter wonderland? it's beautiful!
i modified the look with this palette. so that it's more suitable for a summer weekend look. like skipping the snow effect on eye lashes. i don't want to look like i'm going to ball while doing see nai duties!
i'd very much like to show off the look, but in photos i look like i didn't wear any makeup. that's the problem with photos. to achieve the visual effect you want, you have to put on heavier makeups. then it'll look too much for an everyday look.

try using a digital cam instead of cell phone, cell phone image never look good. get a close up shot of your face, we should be able to see the difference. 
I don't throw away makeup easily either unless I have alternatives or I don't use them anymore or I really don't like them. That's why I was shocked that mascaras should be thrown away after 6 months...(WHAT!!!) lol 
@linda, i'm too lazy to take out my digicam when phonecam is so readily accessible! but maybe i should... lol!@annie, i only threw out those really old or gone yucky and i'm sure i won't use them anymore. which is... quite a lot lol. if i throw out everything i won't still have my current collection! and... mascara has to be thrown out ONE month after opening, not six months, but sometimes i do extend it's usage for 2 more weeks or so.
I really like the combination of whites and silvers eye shadows that Michelle Phan use in her Winter Wonderland tutorial. I always find that whites is not an easy color to use. Also when taking up close picture of yourself using a Digital camera, don't use flash cause when the flash light hits your face your make up look even more wash out.
@cynthia, you're right. it's not an easy color to use. that's why i don't use it often. i was probably out of my mind when i bought that palette.
