colorful blue and green

colorful look from making faces by kevyn aucoin.
to be honest i wasn't impressed with this look initially. i never liked green. i always get the impression that green makes yellow asian skin look sick. so i've been staying away from green for a long time.
it was later i realized there's i was using the 'wrong' green. something about choosing the right shade of particular color to compliment your skin color and tone. i'm color blind in this aspect so i never understand the concept. i know what works for me after many trials and errors.
i recreated this look with less green and more blue. i did 2 same looks with 2 different sets of products.
with loose powders

first look was with mineral eye shdows from edm (10 items or less and pressed olive) and silk naturals (quiver). though the color of quiver looks pink, it's quite golden after applied.
i'm not showing the color swatch of this because the colors are very sheer on my skin, you can't really see the difference.
with press eye shadows

2nd look was using isadora eye shadow quad that has the required blue, green and yellow (as gold). the colors can be very intense. good for dramatic look as well.
look #1

cargo colortube in summerside was applied directly on cleansed and moisturized skin. this is a 3-in-1 product for eyes, cheeks and lips. i think this product is discontinued as i can't find it on the website. i was a bit heavy-handed with this because foundation goes on top of it. this gives flush of color through the skin to give a more natural glow.
edm mineral foundation in fairly summer used as foundation and concealer.
eyebrows were filled in with l'oreal brow colorist in light auburn.
line upper and lower lash lines with face of austalia eye definer in marine. you can see the blue liner from the color swatch above. however when applied on the eye the color doesn't show up as intense. you need to draw several times to get the desired color. don't worry if you don't draw perfect line because it'll be smudged. draw more towards the eye lid if you like to show more blue.
use smudge brush to smudge top and bottom eye liner with 10 items and less.
applied the pressed olive to top and bottom lids. this is one green that i rarely used because it's too yellow. i try to avoid colors that are too yellow. but since this color is quite sheer, i don't have to worry that it makes me look sick.
dot quiver above the pupil of the eyes and blend.
on my lips lined and filled with mac lip pencil in spice and glossed with nivea caregloss & shine in red glamour.
look #2

note: the glossiness at the inner corner of left eye is just reflection from the mirror.
edm mineral foundation in fairly summer used as foundation and concealer. this is my foundation of the moment. love it!
filled brow with edm eye / brow color in broadwalk. can't find this color at the website. probably discontinued? it's dark brown in color.
the eye makeup procedure is the same as above. line upper and lower lash lines with the same eye pencil from above, face of austalia eye definer in marine. smudge with the blue from isadora eyeshadow quad. applied the green to the top and bottom lid. dot yellow above the eyes and blend.
silk naturals blush in climax - this is nars orgasm clone. nars orgasm is one of the most popular blush, but i've never tried it. the price is on the higher end and it costs too much in australia.
on my lips lined and filled with red earth lip pencil in nude and glossed with nivea caregloss & shine in red glamour.
note
as usual, the photos look more natural than real life. the look is quite blue. yet it's not very dramatic. it's suitable for everyday wear.
