colder and drier

it was not long ago it was said we had the hottest day in may in recent history. now we have the coldest days in the same month in recent history too.
i like cold days. but i don't like what comes with it - my dry and dehydrated skin. the moisturizer that i've been using is for dry skin and it does not feed my thirsty skin!
at the moment i'm trying to do some rescue work with vaseline. the traditional vaseline that's normally used as lip balm or to heal dry cracked liips. when i heard people using vaseline on their face many years ago, i thought they were crazy! who wants to put something that oily on the face? but let me tell you, my dry skin just absorbs everything! it's that dry!
if you have oily skin, learn to love it. i used to hate it until my skin starts moving toward the drier end. a sign of aging...
at the moment all foundations look awful on me. mineral powder foundation is worst. it seems to accentuate the dryness. i also try not to apply too much loose powder to set liquid foundations. in the end, i try not to use foundation all the time too.

eye of the day. with mac cranberry on the crease and silk naturals sandy on the lid.
you can see how awful my skin is with such closeup.
one reason i don't do much look of the day posts is because most pics turn out awful. besides it's been raining all week and not getting enough sunlight, the skin just spoils the looks.
dry skin makes you look older! :(

on my lips is a discontinued product, l'oreal shine delice in peacon pie. i like the brownish tone of the color, but the staying power of this lipstick sucks. no wonder it's no longer available. :p

Also on my dry days I don't use heavy foundation as well, instead I used theBlam tinted moisturizer as a foundation base and it gives me a very nice dewy finish that hydrates my skin at the same time.
Also for dry skin like me should avoid powder, that is why I don't really finish my look with a powder because it tends to give me dry spot which is noticeable. =)
but i do love vaseline on my dry hands and feet. i have plenty socks to therapy my feet at night. now i just need to find a pair of gloves for the hands...
@annie, it's a sign that you're still young :)
