chinese new year's eve day into night

this must've been the hottest chinese new year's eve in history! <-- ok i'm probably making it up. it's always hottest in history for me :)

this year reunion dinner started at 6pm. the booking was either 6pm or 8pm, so we chose the earlier session. from past experiences, 8pm sessions always starts around 9pm because people dining at earlier session always take their time.

having early dinner means it's straight after work. even though i got to leave work early, i didn't have time to change. had to go home to pick up kids. it was such a hot humid sticky day and i'd very much prefer having a shower. but there wasn't enough time :(

makeup wise i was hoping something really chinese new year. like reds and golds. but it was so hot makeup will melt instantly! so i went for something safer. simple and neutral. like what i did over the weekends.

look of the day

look of the day

more or less the same as my weekend look. more or less the same products.

please excuse the uneven lights on my face. it was taken in moving car and i can't control direction of the sun.

by evening, my face shines and my eyeshadows creased. but the mess wasn't very obvious. :)

look of the night

makeup added to the day look.

after blotting excess shine, lightly dust mineral powder foundation all over the face.

to glam-up the look, black liquid eyeliner was used. i find that it's the only thing that doesn't smudge badly on me. esp it's so hot i don't want to add anything more to 'set' whatever.

i was wearing the same lipstick for both day and night. revlon colorburst lipstick in soft rose. the night version looks red because a red lip pencil was used as a base prior to applying the lipstick, whereas in the day look the lipstick was applied directly on bare lips.
