we did the ching ming festival visiting the late fil. it's a week after the actual festival, and just before the 'ghost door' closed <-- according to mil.

the place was quiet since it's a week after the festival. see that big blob cloud? we were hoping it moved toward us because it was really sunny. it wasn't a hot day but it was quite hot under the sun. esp when we need to burn the 'money' to send to the late fil.

there were other sections with interesting structures. those graveyards look like little houses.  i'd very much like to take pics but superstitious mil forbids us to move anywhere too far away from fil's graveyard.

look of the day

i usually go for plain and natural looks on weekends. but i've been sick for 2 days and felt miserable. i need something to cheer myself up. looking pretty cheers me up. am i easy to please? ;)

so i went dramatic. perhaps a bit too dramatic for family gathering and going to the graveyard! but... who cares!

dark lavendar smokey eyes. created with laura mercier kohl eye pencil in black violet as base and silk naturals eyeshadow in vineyard <-- i used this a few days ago and really like it. it was a sample gifted with one of my previous orders. i didn't play with this color until recently because the color didn't look attractive in the sample bag.

now you don't see the lavendar color with my eyes opened.

can you guess i've been sick with so much makeup on? i had horrible sore throat that i couldn't swallow. it's getting better. my throat is just itchy now and makes me coughing all the time.

i also painted my nails. something i haven't done in years! it's revlon nail polish in midnight affairs. i bought it when i went to see the doctor yesterday. i'll post a review about this later.

laura mercier kohl eyepencil in black violet across the whole lid up to the crease. smudge with finger. repeat until it gets to the right intensity.

sn eye shadow in vineyard all over the lid.

one of the white eyeshadow from christian dior white and whites on the brow bone.

bourjois clubbing waterproof eyepencil in black party on inner rims of top and bottom lids.

bourjois duochrome eyepencil in violet rose to line both top and bottom eye lines.

rimmel sexy curves mascara.

bourjois blush in rose d'or.

mac lipliner in spice.

rimmel lipstick in asia.

sephora lipgloss in precious pink just on the center of the lips. i find that glossing the whole lips on light lip colors makes my mouth too huge.

note that the 2nd pic was taken after lunch and i retouched my lips with maybelline color sensational lipcolor in make me pink.
