sigma's E40 tapered blending brush.

a while ago i wrote a post about the best and the worst sigma brushes. i was debating which brush gets the worst tag. this is one of the candidates.

what i hate about it

firstly, it sheds almost everytime it's used. it's annoying seeing hair here and there. but the shedding rate is quite tamed when compared to the powder brush.

secondly, it bleeds some colors after every wash. i've been using it for more than a year and it has been washed many many times. the color continues to bleed and stain the tea towel.

this doesn't affect the functionality of the brush. but seeing it bleeds makes me wonder what kind of dye was used.

thirdly, i don't like it as a blending brush. it's too fluffy and i don't feel any blending work done. the E25 blending brush that i recieved as gift with purchase does a better job.

what i love about it

thanks to nyx concealer in a jar that i purchased recently, this brush has finally waken up from hibernation.

due to the stiff texture of the concealer, i had difficult time applying it. it's not easy to pick up the product with my finger (not to mention that they also get caught under my finger nails!) i tried other concealer brushes (by sigma, mac and ecotools) and i find it hard to apply.

then i remember pixiwoo sisters sometimes use a mac fluffy brush (still can't remember the number!) to apply concealer. i don't want to use my beloved E25 blending brush because it's an essential tool in my eye makeup routine. i have only 2 and i don't want to wash dirty brushes everyday. <-- yes i'm lazy.

so the E40 brush is finally put into some use.

i find that using it everyday, it doesn't shed that much hair. it's still annoying when this happens.

the dye bleeding is still not a pretty sight. it's washed more frequently now (almost every other day) and it still happens. why? why? why?

but this is the only brush i own that works perfectly with this nyx concealer. it's getting some love until i have a replacement.
