i'm now a red head

hair

finally colored my hair on the weekend. need to cover the greys that've been showing up, though most people say they barely see any of them. i don't know if i should believe them. >.>

schwarzkopf essential color in 223 amber

schwarzkopf essential color in 223 amber. these are around aud$17, but i got them 50% off at priceline quite a while ago and bought 3 boxes.

as you can tell from the price, this is not something that i normally use. but when it becomes under $10, it's time to try out new things!

close up of the color amber

the box shows that the color is copper red. it's way lighter than my haircolor and is more recommended for light to medium hair colors. there wasn't much choice left. i also prefer lighter color in summer days so this was the only and obvious choice.

the conditioner

i'm quite impressed that the conditioner comes in tube form than in a satchet. and i'm more impressed that it lasts for a very long time.

with conditioners that comes with hair colors, i normally use 1/2 initially, and use the rest a week later. with this tube when used on weekly bases, it lasts about 4 weeks!

another thing i'm impressed with this hair color is the plastic gloves that come with it. they don't break easily. with normal ones, i have to throw them straight after putting on the color. and when i'm ready to wash out the color, i need to wear my own pair of disposable gloves. but with these plastic gloves, i can just clean it, and re-use when i wash out the colors.

other good points about this hair color? it doesn't have the amonia smell. a lot of modern day hair colors don't have this offensive smells anymore.

it's a permanent color and the waiting time for the color to develop is 30 mins. with a lot of new haircolors that can be done in 10 mins, it's a bit too long. oh well, i got these for 50% off! i'm not complaining.

color on my hair

the color on my hair. my hair is naturally dark so i don't expect to get the same color as shown on the box.

hair color under the sun

hair color taken under the sun. it looks quite drying but it's not really that dry in real life. i just colored my hair so it's drier than usual.

see, that's why i'm saving the conditioner to use on weekly basis.

it's funny when people ask me to recommend hair color that will not damage hair. it's chemical, of course it's damaging! if you don't want your hair damaged, don't color your hair!

though this is permanent hair color, the color isn't so permanent. at least with covering the grey part. my grey hair shows through a few weeks. it's normal if it's from the regrowth, but it's not just the roots. if you want to cover grey hairs, this is not for you.

will i buy it again? probably. if the price is reduced. i'll probably choose a differenct color to see if it fades as much as this one. and just because i love the conditioner that comes with it.
