Previously I posted review of affordable body scrubs by Dirty Works, which I was quite impressed. In general, I’m easily impressed with anything cheap and good. Here’s another product from the range that I purchased with the scrubs a while ago when it was discounted from the already affordable price tag.
Dirty Works That Fiji Feeling Coconut Body Butter. I can’t remember the exact price but it’s under A$10.
It comes in a big 300ml round tub. Some may not like the packaging because you need to dip your fingers into the product which isn’t very hygienic. However this doesn’t bother me as I’m the only one using it and I intend to use it daily to finish it ASAP.
The first thing I noticed when I opened the tub was the strong coconut scent. I love coconut scents but this smells quite artificial, which I’m not a fan of. This could just be me. I didn’t like it that much initially and would only apply the butter on lower part of my body only to avoid the scent. But it doesn’t bother me much after a while.
Putting the scents aside, I quite like this body butter.
The texture is very creamy and thick, like soft butter. It’s easily absorbed into the skin without leaving any greasy residue, which I’m quite impressed considering it’s thick texture. My skin feels smooth, nourished and refreshed. Most important of all it instantly relieves the tightness you get out-of-shower and keeps my dry skin fully hydrated.
I would go against the instruction that says to massage onto damp skin after showering or bathing. Unlike most body lotions, Dirty Works Coconut Body Butter doesn’t absorb well into damp skin and leaves traces of residue behind, which takes a while to disappear. I find that it’s best to apply on perfectly dried skin.
After using this body butter I’m really interested in other body butter products in the range, however my local Coles only carries Coconut Body Butter. I’ve been checking the shelves everytime I visit Coles hoping to see more products from this line. To my disappointment for the past few weeks only Coconut Body Scrubs and Body Butters are available. Does your local Coles carry more Dirty Works products?
Like: Cheap. Creamy. Keeps my dry skin hydrated.
Dislike: The scent.
