it's been a year since i re-launched this site as a beauty blog.
this blog has gone through a few changes. started from blogger (before blogging was something big) as a place to share my daily life as a working mom. not happy with the limitation of free blogging platforms (tried almost all free platforms out there), i finally decided to buy a domain and self-host this website for more control.
it came to a stage i've nothing interesting to talk about. it was my love of makeup that i decided to archive the past away and start anew as a beauty blog. i simply wanted to document makeups i wear (so that i can review what works and what not) and to share what i learn along the way. i didn't know there are already so many beauty blogs out there when i started this.
most bloggers judge their success by the number of followers / subscribers they have. if i use this as benchmark, i fail.
being a web developer i more or less know some secret ingredients to gain more exposure in the internet. one of which is to actively comment to let people be aware of your existence. i did find a few good reads via people leaving comments on my blog. however i don't want to comment just for the sake of it. i read far too many blogs, more than those listed from my sidebar. but i only comment when i have things to say.
i don't care about numbers. i blog because i enjoy talking about things i love. i feel like i don't owe anyone anything this way. if you love what you read, that's great. if you don't, there are millions of blogs out there and i'm sure you'll find something you love.
i'm thankful for this blog i've made a few online friends and meet people with the same hobby. people probably raise their eyebrows if i tell them makeup is my hobby. thanks to all those beauty blogs out there i do not look like a weirdo who likes to buy and talk about makeup all the time! XD
to conclude this post, i'm interested to know something about those who read my blog. how did you find out this blog? what keeps you coming back (or not)?
