woo hoo! this blog is turning 2 - since the re-launch. the official date is next week but i decided to talk about it now, while i still remember. and make sure you keep reading for a little surprise :)

if you're new here, you probably don't know this blog is actually quite old... it started off as a personal blog many years ago. long before people know what is a blog and long before almost everyone have a blog. not to repeat myself again, you can read a bit about the mutation from last year's blogaversary post.

like i said last year, i enjoy talking about things i love. i enjoy showcase my everyday makeups even though they may be repeated and perhaps boring <-- i'm just an ordinary working woman who works in an office and not on stage. i can't be and am not too creative with makeups. i enjoy looking for and trying out affordable (read, cheap!) makeups and skin cares. i have kids and mortgage so i do have to watch my spending.

i haven't watched as much yt videos as last year. i mainly enjoy makeup tutorials and demonstrations more than vlogs about hauls and favorites. i can't stand sitting there listening to people babbling. for this i prefer reading blogs where i can look up info whenever required.

i still enjoy makeup tutorials from lisa eldridge (who also gives great and practical tips) and pixiwoo sisters and watch theirs regularly. i haven't watched other 'gurus' as much. there are still some great ones but some are overhyped and gradually it's not what i learn from them but more like what i should not do. for creativity lately i enjoy fables in fashion, which is entertaining as well. she deserves a lot more attention than certain popular ones whose creativity has becoming questionable and sometimes to the point you wonder how can those videos be uploaded. and this reminds me, i need to clean up my yt subscriptions.

this year i have discovered some great indies. and thanks to the high aussie dollars throughout most of this year i was able to buy and try many products whereas i only get to buy limited number of products if purchased in local retails. (when will aussie retailers stop charging at least 2x as much?)

one of the indies i absolutely adore is black rose minerals. it's not the first online indie i purchase from but it's the first that impresses me. gorgeous colors. great staying power. love!
